UK FOLK SINGER SONGWRITER ‘DOGMAN’, praised as being the ENGLISH NEIL YOUNG releases his folk-country-rock cd, ‘The cat that solved The String Theory’ May 13, 2011

‘Dogman’, has crafted an arrangement of exceptional acoustic songs as a follow up to his 2010 release ‘The Whisperer’.

Recognized by many as the British Neil Young and christened ‘Dogman’ by UK indie rock band, Starsailor over ten years before, the title has since stuck. The UK folk artist's musical journey began in the seventies at which point he organized an acoustic rock group named Ulysses. After that Dogman has embarked on a number of musical endeavours and excursions and today feels he has finally discovered his true voice, creating beautifully crafted acoustic style folk tracks which have true depth. The resemblance to Neil Young is unquestionable and although Dogman is honoured to go by the "English Neil Young" distinction, and clearly impacted by the folk rock and country King, Dogman’s music stands on its own two feet.

Dogman penned all of the tracks on the recording titled 'The Cat that solved The String Theory' and enrolled the help of gifted and respected regional artists to perfect it. Jointly they have used massive and intricate brushtrokes to form musical imagery. Dogman's original songwriting is diverse, in one track, Sufjan Stevens-like and seductive and in yet another, new folk romantic. Singles from the release have by now drawn comparisons to REM and Dire Straits. The initial tune to be taken out of the release is titled 'Spitfire' and explores a love affair between two people, one compared to a Spitfire, and the other to an Me109 (Messerschmitt). The video for Spitfire can be seen on the Expat Records website, or on Youtube.

The Uk folk singer songwriter also has a side project entitled ‘The Crossbreed’ with Japan-based producer ‘Mikans’. Here the pair take Dogman’s songs and combine them with ambient electronica to create instrumental soundscapes in a series of powerful remixes.

Dogman (also known as the English Neil Young) and The Crossbreed albums are both due for release on Expat Records this spring.

Dogman’s musical roller coaster began in the 1970's when he formed an acoustic based 'Ulysses'. A song written during this period, ‘See me through’, has since been resurrected and will feature as a remix on the debut 'The Crossbreed' album also to be released by Expat Records.
He is influenced by the music of Buffalo Springfield and Neil Young, Crosby, Stills and Nash, James Taylor and Cat Stevens.
